NEXT CHAPTER

For the past 5 years I've been working part-time on my business Kukka. As many new business owners do, I decided to spread the risk of making a living for myself. I kept a part-time job under contract. In April this year I decided I was ready for the big leap and quit my day job in order to let my business really take off. I know it has only been 3 months but I haven't regretted my decision for a second. Doing what you love and fulfilling your potential feels really good. I think many of you can recognise that.

June

June has been an amazing month. I designed prints for boy's swim shorts and they went in production for Summer 2016 and I also designed lingerie for a major international lingerie retailer for the same season. Fashion Vignette Studio was launched and I'm one of the designers in their curriculum.

To top it off the print sample for my Doll Parts Scarf came in and it looks totally awesome! It will be available for purchase soon along with other designs.

The last weekend of June I spent in a business bootcamp. I got lots of new insights and tools and I will share some of them in the coming blog posts.

July

I have a lot to look forward to in July. Next week I'm going to visit Mode City in Paris to discover new trends and technical developments in Lingerie and Swimwear. It's also a great place to do some networking. Same goes for Modefabriek, Holland's biggest fashion tradefair in Amsterdam.

I'm also taking part in the advanced track of the Make It In Design Summer School which should be both fun and inspirational.

I'll start working on the new prints collection for Winter 2016-2017 and launch my new website! Who says summer is for relaxing only?
