At Kukka, design begins with colour. But it does not always end in mass
production. I believe in design as a conscious act, an interplay of
form, material and meaning. I never set out to start my own label. But I do
want to create autonomous work now and then, pieces that move along the
edge of art and design. Editions offer the perfect format for this:
small-scale, intentional, and produced on demand or in limited stock.

Aligned with natural cycles
From an ecological perspective, editions offer a rhythm that aligns with natural cycles. They resist the speed of throwaway culture. Working in editions means using only what is needed, rethinking surplus, and designing around availability rather than abundance. It allows me to collaborate with specialised artisans and sustainable production partners, each contributing their knowledge to the final result.
A considered ecosystem
Economically, editions form a considered ecosystem. They exist outside of seasonal pressures and commercial expectations. Instead, they offer a slower, more layered relationship between maker and collector. They make it possible to share my vision in a way that is both accessible and exclusive, poetic and practical.
A sound business decision
Editions are not only a creative or ecological choice. They are a sensible business strategy. No large stock, no overproduction, no storage filled with unsold goods. This approach helps avoid the kind of high-risk inventory models that often put pressure on businesses or lead to waste, while keeping focus on quality and meaning.
Tailored collaborations
For mass production, capsule collections or limited editions at a larger scale, I enjoy collaborating with brands that handle production and inventory. These partnerships allow me to focus on the chromatic and conceptual development, while the brand takes care of realisation, logistics and distribution. Each collaboration becomes a shared expression of colour, expertise and ambition.

Every edition tells a colour story
Every Kukka edition unfolds as a colour story. A limited number of pieces are made, and within that framework I make decisions about scale, material and technique. Some series are more experimental, others timeless. Some remain intimate, others become part of installations, exhibitions or interiors. What connects them is the chromatic language they speak, a language of contrast, tactility and curiosity.
A meaningful way of collecting
For collectors, editions are a way to engage with design that is intentional and expressive. To live with a work that reflects its maker’s vision, and that will not be repeated endlessly. Numbered, signed or accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, my editions have the potential to retain or even increase their value over time, adding another layer of meaning to the act of collecting.Editions by Kukka
My collection includes the Chromarama tapestries, risograph prints and Entomology silk scarves. Each piece arises from research and chromatic intuition. They are part of an evolving archive, created with a sense of continuity.
