On the north half of the equator we are bracing ourselves for winter. But in my head it's summer already, summer 2017 that is. My latest trend inspiration post for Fashion Vignette is all about taking a dip. Go on a trip to the Riviera and soak yourself in vintage style & colour swimming prints.
LINGERIE & SWIMWEAR TRENDS
In July I visited Mode City and Interlière Paris, the largest and leading intimates, swimwear, sportswear and loungewear trade show in Europe. For a couple of years I visit the trade show to see the latest brands, collections, innovations, prints and trends. I always like the trend meetings of Concepts Paris and the fashion shows of course. And I get to see the collections way before they hit the stores!

I'm always keen on improving my design skills and on exploring new grounds. So I signed up for the advanced track of the Make it in Design Summer School. The first creative brief is titled Past Modern/Reworked Classics. It is based upon one of the mega trends for S/S 2016 as provided by trend forecasting service WGSN.
PRINT & PATTERN INSPIRATION: FRIDA KAHLO
For 2 years now I'm contributing to the very inspirational blog Fashion Vignette. I discovered the blog when I started out as a designer and found a lot of useful content on there such as trend info and design competitions. So when I heard they were looking for new contributors 2 years ago I jumped at the opportunity.
NEXT CHAPTER
For the past 5 years I've been working part-time on my business Kukka. As many new business owners do, I decided to spread the risk of making a living for myself. I kept a part-time job under contract. In April this year I decided I was ready for the big leap and quit my day job in order to let my business really take off. I know it has only been 3 months but I haven't regretted my decision for a second. Doing what you love and fulfilling your potential feels really good. I think many of you can recognise that.
